Florida State Seminoles

Last week: 23-6, 11-5 ACC
Last rank: 6

The Noles picked up some good momentum to head into a tough final week. They beat Clemson in a close one (who doesn’t?) in their only game last week. Winning out could garner them a share of the ACC regular season title. They need a UNC loss for it to happen, but that would be a huge step for Florida State. Getting a high seed in the ACC Tournament sets them up for success and a high seed in the big dance. They won’t want to look ahead that far, though. Overlooking opponents as good as Duke and Miami is a surefire way to rack up losses. They beat Duke earlier this year, so that will give them confidence looking ahead to a matchup with one of their biggest rivals.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish

Last week: 22-7, 11-5 ACC
Last rank: 4

Notre Dame had a fairly easy go of it last week, dispatching Georgia Tech in their only game. That avenged their only bad loss of the season. While they have a sterling record and the lone bad loss, the Irish lack many good wins. They have a chance to pick up another before the ACC Tournament. After what’s basically a warm up against Boston College, they’ll travel to Louisville this weekend. They beat the Cardinals earlier this year for one of their good wins, and another one here would be a big boost. Notre Dame is only fighting for its seed now, and another great win would help in that endeavor. Additionally, it could push them firmly into a double bye for the ACC Tournament, helping them avoid another bad loss.
