2017 NFL Scouting Combine: RB 40-Yard dash results

The Day 1 arrivals have all run their 40-yard dashes at the 2017 NFL Scouting Combine. Here is how the running backs and offensive linemen did in the dash.

That’s all she wrote for the Day 1 arrivals at the 2017 NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis. The special teams players, the running backs, and the offensive linemen have completed their on-field work at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

Friday, Mar. 3 was the fourth day of the 2017 NFL Scouting Combine, meaning this was the fourth and final day at the combine for the Day 1 arrivals. Today, they did things like the three-cone drill, the vertical jump, and the always popular 40-yard dash.

Here are the 40-yard dash times for the running backs and the offensive linemen.

At the 2017 NFL Scouting Combine, eight running backs had faster than 4.50 40-yard dash times. North Carolina’s T.J. Logan blazed the way with an impressive 4.37 time. Utah’s Joe Williams finished second among tailbacks with 4.41 speed. North Carolina A&T’s Tarik Cohen had a 4.42.

Other notable times from the combine include Stanford’s Christian McCaffrey (4.48), Florida State’s Dalvin Cook (4.49), and LSU’s Leonard Fournette (4.51). A few notable players did not run in the combine including North Carolina State’s Matt Dayes, North Carolina’s Elijah Hood, and Texas’ D’Onta Foreman.

The offensive linemen did what many expect offensive linemen to do during the 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine. However, there were four offensive linemen that ran a 5.00 or faster 40-yard dash time. Those guys include TCU’s Aviante Collins (4.81), Utah’s Garett Bolles (4.95), Tennessee State’s Jessamen Dunker (4.98), and Western Kentucky’s Forrest Lamp (5.00).

It was not a good day for foot speed with USC offensive linemen. Chad Wheeler (5.48), Zach Banner (5.58), and Damien Mama (5.84) were among the 10 slowest offensive linemen at the combine.
