When Damian Lillard made a potential dagger 3-pointer in the fourth quarter Thursday night, Meyers Leonard lost all feeling in his face.
Damian Lillard and the Portland Trail Blazers have had a rough 2016-17 campaign in the wake of their 44-win season in 2015-16, but even with Isaiah Thomas taking over as the NBA’s “King of the Fourth,” Dame is still capable of letting people know when it’s Lillard Time.
With the Blazers up 103-101 on the Oklahoma City Thunder and under three minutes to play in the fourth quarter Thursday night, Lillard drilled a brutally tough 3-pointer over Doug McDermott.
Though OKC came back and made it a game at the end, that shot may have served as the final dagger that gave Rip City a sustainable lead the rest of the way. The best part, however, may have been center Meyers Leonard losing all feeling in his face on the bench after Dame’s shot dropped.

Lillard’s shot alone was a thing of beauty. Though McDermott is a pretty bad defender, he properly contested a corner three that looked all too easy for Dame.
Leonard’s reaction, however, is the best part of the equation. The whole bench was loving that shot after the Blazers had trailed for most of the quarter, but Leonard channeling his inner The Weeknd was too great.
Thursday’s 114-109 win moved the Blazers to 25-35 on the season, just 2.5 games out of the West’s eighth playoff spot. Lillard finished the game with 33 points, five assists and four rebounds, while Jusuf Nurkic added 18 points, 12 rebounds and six assists.

Russell Westbrook led the Oklahoma City Thunder with 45 points, eight rebounds and four assists, but was unable to make a potential game-tying three on one of OKC’s final possessions.
