Marcin Gortat is a good basketball player, but an even better faceball player. Here he is using his head again against the Toronto Raptors.
It’s officially a thing. From now on, every time the Washington Wizards play the Toronto Raptors, expect Wizards power forward Marcin Gortat to catch a pass with his face. It has happened twice in the last three days, people! What is going on?
Attempting to protect the rim on a Cory Joseph drive to the paint, Joseph accidentally drills Gortat in the head. He played great faceball in the paint, ricocheting that basketball through the hoop for two Raptors’ points.
First, Marcin Gortat got drilled in the face by a John Wall pass ... and then this happened tonight. pic.twitter.com/6MBNgjs534

The Polish Hammer is quickly becoming the Justin Long of the NBA. He probably can’t dodge a wrench, so he can definitely can’t dodge a ball. Gortat was probably looking for Steve the Pirate in the stands, or maybe Chuck Norris? It was a bold strategy, Cotton and no, it didn’t pan out.
Washington would fail to win this crucial game against a formidable Eastern Conference foe. The Wizards fell to the Raptors to the tune of 114-106. They didn’t lose a game in the Southeast Division standings, as the rival Atlanta Hawks lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers, 135-130.
However, one has to wonder if this game would have been different if Joseph didn’t go Patches O’Houlihan all over Gortat’s face? Gortat is just having one of those weeks. At least not losing teeth on the hardwood like Goran Dragic last season. That was a weird NBA thing, too.

The Wizards and Raptors have completed their three-game season series. If they meet again, it will be in the Eastern Conference Playoffs. Should that be the case, we got to get ready for Gortat to use his head to help give the Raptors points!
