New Orleans Saints free agency 2017.. Who can the New Orleans Saints add to their roster to put them into that type of consideration?

The Saints offense has consistently been in the top five. They have Drew Brees, and have now found some star wide receivers in Brandin Cooks and Michael Thomas. The problem with the Saints is obviously their defense. Brees tires out as the year goes on from throwing his team into so many games. So who can they add that put their defense into the names of a contenders?

5. Kyle Love

The Saints found something in Nick Fairley last season. However, he may end up out of the Saints price range due to his success. The team drafted Sheldon Rankins in the first round last season, and with that they have a foundation block. They may be best served making lower price moves on the position and compliment Rankins to find success in the trenches.

The first place to look would be Love. He is 30 years old, and has the experience that can be taught to the young defensive lineman. He also played for a Panthers team that was in a Super Bowl in the past two seasons, and a Panthers team that the Saints happen to play twice a season.

The Saints can decide to mix in a rookie draft pick in the early rounds, and the two combined will end up being a cheaper option than Fairley. It is more cost effective, and serves a purpose in the locker room. It could be a low key move that works for the Saints.
