Report: Reuben Foster sent home early from 2017 NFL Scouting Combine
By John Buhler
It seems that the 2017 NFL Scouting Combine experience has been cut short for Alabama Crimson Tide linebacker Reuben Foster who was sent home early.
There are three more days of the 2017 NFL Scouting Combine at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. It’s been a good experience for many pro prospects, but not everybody. Alabama Crimson Tide inside linebacker Reuben Foster has been sent home early from the event in Indianapolis.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, “Reuben Foster, a potential top-10 pick, is being sent home from combine for heated argument with hospital worker.” Foster still had a few team interviews and a full day’s worth of field work to do on Saturday. He’ll be on plane back to Tuscaloosa on Saturday morning.
Foster is considered to be the best inside linebacker in the 2017 NFL Draft. He starred at Alabama the last two seasons, helping the Crimson Tide win the 2015 National Championship and reach the 2016 National Championship Game.
Could this early departure negatively impact Foster’s draft status? Well, it doesn’t help. Foster should still be able to put together a great pro day to ensure that he’ll be a top-16 pick in the NFL Draft.

However, having to leave the scouting combine two days early may knock him down some teams’ draft boards. Inside linebackers are usually leaders on defense. The argument with the hospital worker in Indianapolis must have been really bad for Foster to be sent home early from the combine.
