5. Draymond Green’s no-points triple-double

There have been a record-setting number of triple-doubles this season, but only Draymond Green has a triple-double that didn’t include points. In fact, Draymond is the only player in NBA history to record a triple-double without double-digit points.

Do you know how insane that is? The NBA has been around since 1946. There have been millions of games played. Thousands of players have stepped foot on the court. And it took until 2017 for a guy to record a triple-double without double-digit points.

In fairness, maybe it happened back in the 40’s or 50’s when the only stats they kept were points, assists, and fouls. But until someone goes back and tracks all of those games, Draymond’s name stands alone in the record books. And if you do go back and watch those games to do this, you must have a lot of free time or really don’t want Draymond as the only person to hold this record.

Green recorded 12 rebounds, 10 assists, and 10 steals to complete his triple-double. The unselfish Warriors only let him score four points. Had they cared more about the stats of their teammate, they would have ensured he got a quadruple-double. Unless they thought a no points triple-double is cooler than a quadruple-double.

Anytime a player writes his own record, you have to drug test that guy. This would be good publicity for the NBA drug testing policy as well, because Draymond would probably Snapchat the entire process.
