Mitch Trubisky

QB, UNC

The San Francisco 49ers have already made some huge moves this offseason, bringing in John Lynch to be the team’s general manager, and Kyle Shanahan to take over for Chip Kelly as the head coach. Recently, quarterback Colin Kaepernick opted out of his contract, meaning his time with the team is over. As the 49ers look to turn the page on their franchise, they need to bring in a franchise quarterback, and Mitch Trubisky has all the tools to be just that.

Trubisky started only one season with the University of North Carolina Tar Heels, but he proved to be both accurate, and heady during the season. The signal-caller threw only six interception all season long, showing great decision making skills, and his leadership on the field will seperate him at the next level. The 49ers have a long way to go if they want to be relevant again, and Trubisky is the kind of quarterback who can get them there.

Shanahan did an amazing job with Matt Ryan last season, helping the quarterback to his first NFL Most Valuable Player Award. He is very good with quarterbacks, as was shown during his time with the Washington Redskins with Kirk Cousins. Trubisky has all the physical gifts to be very successful at the next level, and if he goes to San Francisco, he will have the perfect head coach to get him where he wants to be.
