Barcelona face Paris Saint-Germain at the Camp Nou on Wednesday, March 8. Here’s all the info you need to watch.

Before kickoff in Paris a few weeks ago, everything seemed normal in Barcelona’s world. They were facing a PSG team that would probably fold early under their attack, Luis Enrique was one of the most consistent managers in the world and they were feeling great. Fast forward to March: they face a 4-0 deficit to a hungry PSG team, its Luis Enrique’s last season and the future of their aging midfield is in question.

All of these questions face a Barcelona team that’s still stacked with attacking talent. Barca will be especially desperate knowing they failed to score an away goal in Paris. One PSG goal, and Barca will need to score six to win. Although, as we saw in their recent games against Celta Vigo and Sporting de Gijón, winning 5-0 and 6-1 are no problem for this Barca squad against La Liga competition.

But PSG are much better opponents. A tight race atop Ligue 1 has kept PSG in immaculate form for their Champions League run. Edinson Cavani, Blaise Matuidi, Marco Verratti, Angel Di Maria, Julian Drazxier and Adrien Rabiot all found areas of Barcelona’s midfield and backline to penetrate and attack in the first leg. Unless Barcelona make significant changes in their defensive scheme, it won’t matter if they’re able to score four or five goals, because PSG will likely hit back with a few of their own.

The first leg certainly didn’t go in the favor of FC Barcelona. According to fivethirtyeight, Barcelona have a seven percent chance of advancing. However, if any player can rally their team down 4-0 and against the odds it’s certainly Lionel Messi.
