Borussia Dortmund face Benfica at Westfalenstadion on Wednesday, March 8 in the Champions League round of 16. Here’s all the info you need to watch.

Borussia Dortmund at their best are one of the most lethal teams in the soccer world. The Bundesliga giants can topple any other club in the world at full health and top form. Unfortunately, that’s not where they’re at. That’s why they enter their Wednesday, March 8 Champions League clash with Benfica trailing 1-0 on aggregate as the play the second leg at Westfalenstadion.

Obviously the biggest blow to Dortmund is the indefinite absence to prized transfer Mario Gotze. However, it’s not as if they don’t have talent behind him capable of making up the slack. Marco Reus, Pierre-Emerick Aubemeyang, Ousmane Dembele and even American Christian Pulisic are all dangerous on any given day. Needing a two-goal win to advance int he Champions League, Dortmund needs their stars to rise to the occasion.

It was star forward Kostas Mitroglou that gave Benfica their one-goal win and aggregate lead in the first match. They’d love to see him strike again and he’s certainly more than capable. Even so, getting some support from midfielder Eduardo Salvio would go a long way in helping their efforts of ousting Dortmund early from the Champions League.
