Man vs. Beast: 10 NFL players, animals that should fight each other
By Carly Regehr
9. Rob Gronkowski vs. Mountain Lion
Fighter Statistics
Rob Gronkowski: 6-foot-6, 265 pounds
Mountain Lion: 3-6 feet long, weighs between 80-140 pounds
Advantages
Rob Gronkowski: muscle volume, experienced brawler
Mountain Lion: practices the 3 P’s (pouncing, pivoting, positioning)
Disadvantages
Rob Gronkowski: easily distracted, untamed composure
Mountain Lion: no Super Bowl rings, not a party animal
The mountain lion is not your traditional feline. Also known as a puma or panther, the mountain lion contracts its muscles with a force strong enough to seize some of the largest men. That so happens to include Rob Gronkowski, a man composed of nothing but meat and protein shakes.
By introducing this matchup, the mountain lion gets a qualified opponent in terms of physique, but there’s a caveat. Gronkowski, of course, has an outgoing and reckless personality, so the likelihood of him taking the match seriously could be the beginning of the end of his boxing career.
Unlike the mountain lion, Gronkowski does have one thing going for him: spunk. Charisma can go a long way, especially when it comes to intimidating your opponent. If the charisma is high enough, though, it can lead to taunting – another red flag when facing any species. Taunting spurs arousal and if the mountain lion is encouraged enough by Gronkowski’s self-equipped toolery, then the fight could be over before it even starts. At the end of the day, the shear force of a mountain lion might put Gronk on the IR – permanently.
