After the trade deadline, some players were blessed with new homes. Here are five players that are playing well in their new homes.

For some players, the trade deadline is an opportunity for a fresh start, a chance to move to a new team and use their skills in a new or more important setting. Here are five players who were definitely saved at the trade deadline.

5. Bojan Bogdanovic

Washington traded Marcus Thornton, Andrew Nicholson, and a future first round pick to the Brooklyn Nets, for a streaky scorer in Bogdanovic, hoping he could beef up their bench. Washington’s starting lineup has been solid but their second unit had been one of the worst in the league for most of the season. So far, Washington’s gamble has looked like a great decision.

Bogdanovic struggled in his debut, on Feb. 25 against the 76ers, when he scored 2 points on 1-of-5 shooting, in 18 minutes of action. The newcomer made his mark, scoring 15 points the next night, then chipped in 16 points in their 112-108 win over the Golden State Warriors, perhaps their biggest win of the season. Then Bogdanovic had his best game yet, against their Eastern Conference foes the Toronto Raptors, scoring 27 points on 6-of-7 3-point shooting, leading to a 105-96 win. Since then, Bogdanovic continues to impact the Wizards bench, enough for them to have jumped to the No. 2 seed in the East, following a 130-122 win over the Sacramento Kings Friday night.

Bogdanovic now gets a chance to play meaningful basketball for a dark-horse championship contender instead of watching the season ebb away from the league-worst Nets. Seems like an upgrade.
