Latavius Murray and Jamaal Charles are both visiting two teams who are in dire need of a running back.

The NFL rumors continue with the veteran running backs.

Latavius Murray, the former Oakland Raiders running back, is visiting the Minnesota Vikings today, Mar.14. The other prominent veteran free agent running back in the league, Jamaal Charles, the former Kansas City Chief, will be visiting the Seattle Seahawks on Wednesday.

Charles is still going to visit the Seahawks, even though the Seahawks just announced that they signed the former Green Bay Packer, Eddy Lacy, to a one-year deal worth $5.55 million.

So the immediate question that begs an answer is, why is Charles still visiting with the Seahawks?

There is a simple answer to this imperative question, the first being do not question Pete Carroll and the Seahawks management. They are still in shock after their disappointing 2016 NFL campaign and are looking to rebound this season. A dual threat of Jamaal Charles and Eddy Lacy instantly fixes the Seahawks running back problem. And when one of the two injury-prone running backs becomes injured, the other can step in and take on a bigger role until the other comes back.

Now, Murray is still a free agent, which is shocking to most casual observers. But, he is taking his time in free agency and is absorbing all of the teams that are interested in him before officially signing with any of them.

The Vikings need a running back. It’s that simple for them. They lost Adrian Peterson to an injury early last season and without him, their running game is lost. They have Matt Asiata, who is best strictly as a third-down back, and Jerick McKinnon, who is still developing as an NFL running back.

Murray can fill the gaping hole at running back that the Vikings have and bring immediate results to Minnesota. His impact is clear, as shown in Oakland when he was out for a couple of games. The Raiders rushing attack without Murray was awful with 216 yards on 61 attempts.
