Do you need to make room in your viewing schedule for Supernatural tonight, March 16, or has The CW done some shuffling in when the show will air?

After a bout of hellhound-hunting took up Sam and Dean’s time on last week’s episode of Supernatural, one may wonder how long it will take for their almost-inevitable breakup based on the development that came at the end of last week’s episode. It’s all right in our recap, should you think you don’t quite remember what happened.

Of course, the question now becomes if we’ll see it this week. However, the answer to that, per The CW’s own official schedule, is no. Instead, The CW will re-air last week’s series finale to The Vampire DiariesRiverdale‘s regular slot has also been handed over to the special, “Forever Yours,” which looks back on the series as a whole.

However, that doesn’t mean that Supernatural has finished season 12. You’ll only have to wait until the end of March to get your next episode. In two weeks, we’ll have a fresh new episode of Supernatural to pore over, dubbed “Ladies Drink Free.” You can already see photos online as well as a synopsis that confirms that we’ll see Claire Novak again. It seems odd to follow a hellhound episode with a werewolf episode. Well, one might say it’s decidedly … canine. (Forgive us for the pun.)

Additionally, we also know that we’ll be getting new episodes next fall as well. The CW actually gave Supernatural a renewal in January. Although it didn’t confirm then what the fall schedule may look like, could we see Riverdale and Supernatural continue to share the Thursday night block? After all, we’ll be getting a second season of Riverdale as well, and the press release announcing it mentions that its strength is in “delayed viewing.”

For now, though, we’ll have to make do with two weeks without new Supernatural.
