2017 NFL Draft: Indianapolis Colts 7-round mock
It was not long ago that Tabor was looked at as a consensus top 20 pick. On the field, he very well may be that as well. However, off of the field, Tabor is starting to pile a list of concerns and it may have him down in the 80s in the NFL draft.
To start, he has failed a couple of drug tests. He has been in trouble with the University at Florida and with his coaches during his time at the school. On top of all of that, he tested poorly at the combine in most areas.
Now, onto the good. He has played zone, but this is a guy that you can turn into a press-man cornerback and see him make plays in the NFL for years to come. His athleticism may push his ceiling down to a second cornerback level on a team. Fortunately, the team has Vontae Davis.
Davis can help teach the young man the nuances of the NFL, and how to handle himself professionally. Then, if Tabor does hit, he can make moving on from Davis in the next year or so much easier. Tabor is a risk, but at pick 80 it is worth the upside, and the Colts should certainly consider him.
