Did Sidney Crosby hit Ryan O’Reilly in the nuts? It sure looks like he did.

Pittsburgh Penguins star Sidney Crosby is outlandishly great at hockey. He makes the most difficult things look routine. Every night, Crosby seems to do something that defies physics.

However, he’s also a competitive and ruthless guy. It’s what makes Crosby such a great player. Not only is he skilled, he’s obsessed with winning. Crosby will do anything it takes to win.

Ryan O’Reilly found out the hard way just how far he’s willing to go. Luckily, he was wearing a cup so future children aren’t out of the question.

There is a little bit of embellishment there from O’Reilly. But to be fair, he just got hit in the nuts. Crosby does it so subtly. It probably should have been called, but it wasn’t. An underrated part of Crosby’s game is how good he is at cheating. Every great player cheats. Yes, even your favorite player probably does. If he doesn’t, he’s probably not a great player.

Crosby is great at everything involving hockey, so naturally, he’s a very good cheater. It’s a wonderful skill to have. Cheating helps you get away with the most subtle things. Even if the advantage seems tiny, in the game of hockey, players will take any advantage they can get.

Sid the Kid showed off how great he can be tonight with a one-handed top shelf goal. He showed a rare, but still existent, side to his game that can make him a bit of a jerk with the subtle nut-shot. This is why it’s fun to love Crosby and fun to hate him as well. He’s a polarizing figure because everyone knows he gets away with stuff except, of course, for the refs.
