Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker joined an elite club in history by scoring 70 points in a game against the Boston Celtics on Friday night.

Devin Booker is one of the future superstars in the NBA. The young guard for the Phoenix Suns has impressed ever since he has been given his chance and this year he has taken another step. However, no one could ever foresee the step that he took on Friday night. Playing against the Boston Celtics on the road, Booker had 70 points in a loss.

No, that’s not a typo. He had 70 points and joined six other players in the 70-point club in NBA history. Even more incredible is the fact that he only had 19 points at the half, which means he had 51 points overall in the second half.

Although the Suns were losing, what Booker was doing was so special that the fans in Boston began cheering him on late in the game. In fact, the crowd even began to boo when the refs took away three of his points. Nonetheless, he was able to hit two final free throws to achieve a Suns franchise record for points in a game.

The crazy thing here is that Booker is only 20 years old. For his game to be so developed at such a young age is completely rare. It takes a special talent to put up that many points and the other players on the list, such as Wilt Chamberlain, David Robinson and others, are all legends.

He has a long way to go to get to that point but he made his first huge mark in the league on Friday night. It’s the most points ever scored against the Boston Celtics and that’s another milestone to be proud of. In a night where March Madness was the talk of sports, Booker took the spotlight for himself.
