California native Kyle Larson cruised to a commanding win at the 2017 Auto Club 400 on Sunday.

If there’s one thing that stands out about the Auto Club 400, every race is going to have restarts near the end. That typically means the race leader is going to have to overcome plenty of obstacles to come out with the win. Kyle Larson handled it like a seasoned veteran.

Taking everything thrown at him, the California native and points leader picked up his first win of the season on Sunday. He faced a battle from Martin Truex Jr. for most of the day but a critical strategic error by the latter gave Larson all he needed.

Truex Jr. at one point had the fastest car on the track but a late decision to not get tires during a caution ultimately left him out to dry. Still, he was able to hold on enough to get a fourth place finish at the end.

Denny Hamlin had the bad luck draw of the day. After being in contention to win near the end of the race, he wound up in 14th after some contact with the wall. Here are are the complete results from the Auto Club 400.
