When is Florida State Football spring game 2017?
By John Buhler
The Florida State Seminoles should be one of the most dominant teams in the Power 5 in 2017 and fans will get a sense of that at the annual spring game.
Spring football has been under way throughout Division I programs these last several weeks. Eventually, all teams that are holding spring practice will play their annual intra-squad. One program that is looking to do big things in 2017 is the Florida State Seminoles of the ACC.
Florida State went 10-3 in 2016, a good, but not great season for high Seminoles standards. Having to start a new quarterback and playing in the brutal ACC Atlantic with teams like the Clemson Tigers and the Louisville Cardinals largely undermined Florida State’s chances at contending for a national title.
However, Florida State might very well be the best team in the ACC this fall. Clemson might take a step back after winning it all and Louisville is not consistent enough to be a blue-blood program. The first step in the right direction for the 2017 Seminoles will be a good showing in their annual 2017 Garnet and Gold spring game. So when is it?
Florida State will play Florida State in front of the Florida State faithful at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee on Saturday, Apr. 8. Kickoff in the Garnet and Gold spring game will be at 3:00 p.m. ET.
Seeing how redshirt sophomore quarterback Deondre Francois performs in this spring game will go a long way in seeing Florida State begin the season ranked in the AP top-five. The Seminoles should have the deepest team in the ACC Atlantic, but Clemson is the defending National Champions and Louisville returns Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Lamar Jackson.

It won’t be easy for the Seminoles to win their second national title in five years, but they might have the depth to do it. Florida State doesn’t rebuild, they reload.
