After running a 4.77 in the 40, Teez Tabor, should see his name start to fall in big boards across the NFL community.

In January, Jalen ‘Teez’ Tabor was considered the fourth best corner in the draft by Bleacher Report’s Matt Miller. He is long, can defend bigger wide receivers, and is proficient in both man and zone coverage.

There were some concerns about his tendency to gamble without the recovery speed necessary to get back to his man if he makes the wrong read and his ability to defend against the deep ball as quicker receivers will be able to get separation on him in the open field.

Until recently we didn’t know how big of a problem this was going to be until we got an official 40-time from the NFL combine.

In Todd McShay’s combine guide, the 40-yard dash is separated into the most desirable times, the average over the last five years, and times that raise red flags for the evaluators.

In that chart, an outstanding time for a corner would be sitting around the 4.4 mark, the average time is 4.55, and the cutoff time that would start to raise some red flags would be around the 4.64 mark. In this case, a 4.77 would be considered the reddest of red flags.

To give you some perspective, there were 15 defensive linemen that clocked in at a better time than Tabor did, including 6-foot-4, 269-pound Tarell Basham, leading to some hilarious tweets.

The self-proclaimed “best player in the draft” is going to have to do some damage control with a month left to see where he stands relative to the field.

There is a lot to like about Taylor, so a slide to the third round seems out of the question. My guess is that a corner-needy franchise will take a chance on him in the second round and see how things go in camp.
