The Chicago Public Schools have seen a dramatic decrease in students this year. Along with hip-hop artist Chance the Rapper, the Chicago Bulls make a big donation.

Chicago native and hip-hop artist Chancelor Bennett (Chance the Rapper) has launched a charity fund to donate to the Chicago Public School system.

Last month, Bennett announced that he wanted to help out with funding money to put into the arts and literature programs for the kids of Chicago.

On Friday afternoon, Bennett held a conference via Periscope announcing that along with his generous one million dollar donation, the Chicago Bulls will be donating one million dollars as well!

The Chicago school system saw a dramatic decrease in students at the beginning of the year. The Chicago Tribune reported that there were nearly 11,000 less students enrolled in the district compared to last year.

Bulls COO Michael Reinsdorf joined Chance the Rapper at Robeson High School after the announcement was officially made. Chance has set up an official website for the campaign. He calls it #ForTheKids #SupportCPS. He told NBC 5 in Chicago that for every 100 thousand dollars donated to the site, he will donate 10 thousand more on top of his original one million dollars.

So far, it is reported that 2.2 million dollars have been donated to the cause. When Chance originally fired up the campaign, his goal was to get the attention of major organizations to contribute to his goals for the kids. The Chicago Bulls were the first big organization to help the cause.

Hopefully, with the generous effort of Chance the Rapper and the Chicago Bulls, this will encourage other organizations to help out in their cities as well. No players on the Bulls have commented on this donation yet, but hthis generous donation might inspire some of the players to consider making a donation to the cause as well.
