Carmelo Anthony absolutely embarrassed Nikola Mirotic Tuesday night, crossing him up before drilling a three-pointer in his eye.
If there were any play to perfectly capture how the Chicago Bulls’ Tuesday night game against the New York Knicks went, it was Nikola Mirotic getting absolutely embarrassed by Carmelo Anthony’s crossover.
In a nine-point win that saw the Knicks lead by 16 entering the final frame, Melo reminded everyone why he should still be regarded as one of the all-time great scorers in NBA history, crossing up poor Mirotic before nailing a three-pointer in his mug.
Basically, he paved paradise, and pulled up from the parking lot.

Though Anthony only shot 9-for-25 from the field and 2-for-8 from downtown, he finished the game with 23 points and seven rebounds in 37 minutes of action. And, for our purposes, he had the highlight of the game by putting poor Mirotic on skates at Madison Square Garden.
Maurice Ndour added 13 points and 12 rebounds for the Knicks, while Courtney Lee was the team’s second-leading scorer with 14. Jimmy Butler led the Bulls with 26 and Mirotic added 21 points and 10 boards in the losing effort.
The defeat ended Chicago’s four-game losing streak, and with Indiana beating Toronto Tuesday night, the Bulls and Pacers are now tied with a 38-40 record. Chicago owns the tiebreaker, putting them in seventh in the standings while Indiana jumps over the Miami Heat for the 8-seed.

The Knicks have already been eliminated from playoff contention, but they haven’t exactly committed to the tank like they’ve needed to, winning three of their last five games. Melo’s long-term future with the franchise feels like it’s up in the air, but at least he’s ending the season with a couple of highlight reel plays.
