Manchester United drew 1-1 with Everton at Old Trafford on Tuesday, April 4. Here are all the highlights from the match.

Manchester United dominated the opening stages of their Premier League match against Everton at Old Trafford on Tuesday, but went into the break trailing to one of the most freakish goals of the season.

Phil Jagielka opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, flicking, more in hope than judgment, the ball through David de Gea’s legs under heavy pressure from Marcos Rojo.

The Toffees showed almost no attacking threat up to that point, but were arguably the better team for the remainder of the first half. United continued to dominate possession, but Romelu Lukaku, Kevin Mirallas and Ross Barkley looked dangerous on the break.

United’s best chance of the half came early on, when Zlatan Ibrahimovic took advantage of a Mason Holgate error to run through on goal. His shot was blocked by an excellent Ashley Williams tackle.

The Red Devils dominated the second half, and threw more and more bodies forward in attack. Paul Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan both came of the bench, as Everton were forced to defend deep in their own half.

Pogba hit the bar with a header, while Ibrahimovic appeared to have leveled the score only to be pulled up for offside. The decision was marginal at best, as the Swedish striker appeared to be level with the last man.

With the game deep in second-half stoppage time, United finally found a breakthrough, as Neil Swarbrick pointed to the spot after Ashley Williams handled in the box. United will be pleased with the comeback, but will be disappointed to have dropped points at home for the second time in a week.

Highlights

United remain in fifth place in the table on 54 points, four points behind fourth-place Manchester City having played two games more. City play Chelsea on Wednesday. Everton move level on points with sixth-place Arsenal, but remain seventh on goal difference.
