Tony Romo likely won’t be back with the Dallas Cowboys for the 2017 NFL season, but where he may head is still up in the air.
The 2017 NFL season will be here before you know it, and by this point in free agency, many believed that Tony Romo would have already found his new team. Romo was hurt in the preseason last year, and rookie Dak Prescott stepped in and led the Cowboys to the best regular season record in the NFC. Team owner Jerry Jones told teams they could speak with Romo on Monday, and the plan is to find a trade partner for the 36-year-old signal caller.
For most of the the 2016 NFL season, New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski was too hurt to be a factor. Gronk appears to be healthy enough to play now, as he has been all over the place doing non-football activities. On Sunday, he took part in Wrestlemania 33, and on Monday, he was stealing Tom Brady’s jersey during the season opener for the Boston Red Sox. Hopefully for the Pats, Gronk will be back in action in 2017.
The Washington Redskins needed to bolster their defensive unit this offseason, and on Monday, they took another step towards doing so. The Redskins signed former Buffalo Bills Pro Bowler Zach Brown to a one-year deal, inking the star linebacker for $4.65 million. Brown racked up 149 tackles as a member of the Bills last season, and was one of the more coveted defensive players in this year’s free agent class.
On Monday, former Pro Bowl running back Adrian Peterson met with the New England Patriots, as he is still without a team for the 2017 season. Peterson, who is a bit old to be a premier running back, is hoping to finally link up with a new team, as the Minnesota Vikings did not renew his contract this offseason. AD has also met with the Seattle Seahawks, but the market for his services appears to be lighter than originally expected.

Finally, some NFL Draft news, and for DeShone Kizer, it is not good. Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly told Sirius XM Radio that Kizer should have staying college, as he is not currently ready to be an NFL quarterback. As the quarterback of the Fighting Irish last season, Kizer definitely had his ups and down, even being benched by Kelly at times. Kizer is listed as the top QB in this draft class on some boards, though we have him falling out of the first round.
