With three games left in the regular season, the Golden State Warriors have notched their 65th win of the season, for the third straight season.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr came to the Warriorfor s in the 2014-15 season. His head coaching record had been outstanding, 140-24 over the span of his first two seasons. This season they have 65 wins and 14 losses with three games remaining.

The Warriors are the first team in NBA history to win 65 games in three consecutive seasons (h/t SBNation). In 2015-16, the Warriors passed the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls record-breaking 72-10 season by one game, winning 73 games. With one more win this year, they’ll pass the 1995-98 Bulls for the best three-year win percentage in NBA history.

Golden State has become a true juggernaut of a basketball team, headlined by superstar names like Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and the former Thunder forward, Kevin Durant.

Over the Warriors record-breaking three-year span, Steph Curry has become one of the biggest names in basketball. He won back-to-back MVP awards and is now the sixth player in Warriors franchise history to score 13,000 points. Known for his incredible shooting, he is also the 10th player in NBA history to drain 1,900 3-pointers.

Coming off of a record-breaking season in 2015 that lead to a dramatic Game 7 loss to Cleveland, the Warriors are well on their way to compete in another deep playoff run. This year they are coming with more ammunition and trying to be more then warriors of the regular season.

Kevin Durant signed with the Warriors during the offseason after playing eight long years in Oklahoma City. The addition of Kevin Durant was sure to help Golden State have another big season. He played in 59 games this season, averaging 25.3 points per game, 4.8 assists and 8.2 total rebounds.

Unfortunately, a knee injury against the Washington Wizards sidelined Durant for all of March and the start of April. He is set to come back just in time for the beginning of the playoffs.
