2017 NFL Mock Draft: Jets, Browns land quarterbacks
By Brad Weiss
Last season, the Chicago Bears were one of the worst teams in the NFL on both sides of the ball, as they labored through one of the worst seasons in franchise history. As they head into 2017, there will be a new quarterback under center, as the team finally got rid of Jay Cutler. Mike Glennon was given a bunch of money, albeit not so much guaranteed, to lead an offense that has a lot of good, young talent on it.
On the defensive side of the ball, the Bears have to improve their secondary, as their division features some of the best quarterbacks in the conference. Chicago has already brought in Quintin Demps, a ball-hawking safety to add to the group, but there is still a need for more help back there. Jamal Adams of LSU is the best defensive back in this draft class, and his tenacity for the game would play well in the Windy City.
Adams has not disappointed this offseason, putting together a solid NFL Scouting Combine and Pro Day. He is downright fast, and his ability to get to the ball and make plays is second to none compared to the other players at his position in this draft. Chicago is going to lose more than they win in 2017, but they are building a roster that could be very competitive in the near future.
