Pitchers

Max Scherzer $10300

Scherzer shut down the Phillies hitters last year, only allowing a combined .190 average against the team and striking out 44 batters. He finished the season 3-0 with two no decisions and earned a quality start in every single game. He pitched past the sixth inning in every game while pitching through eight innings twice. He averaged almost nine strikeouts a game and was a dominant force at each ballpark. With so many suspect pitchers on the mound today, Scherzer is the obvious top play. *****

Francisco Liriano $8000

Liriano started one game against the Tampa Bay Rays last year, pitching past the sixth inning and only allowing three hits in a quality start. The Rays did pick up two earned runs but also struck out six times. With so many back end rotation pitchers getting the start today, Liriano is one of the safer options on the board for a quality start and hopefully a win. ***

Ivan Nova $6900

The last time that Nova face the Atlanta Braves was back in 2012. In that start he pitched seven complete innings while only allowing five hits and one walk with zero runs in a winning effort. He struck out six batters in the process and earned himself a quality start. The Braves offense is slightly different five years later, but Nova also gets to pitch at home this time. If history repeats itself today, Nova will have no problem slicing up the Braves lineup. **
