After a lousy moment in Round 1 on 15, 2015 Masters winner Jordan Spieth rebounded to finish Round 2 at even par. How does he stack up on the leaderboard?

With Dustin Johnson having to exit the 2017 Masters in Round 1, the best golfer in the tournament no longer has a chance to win it. As 2016 champion Danny Willett failed to make the cut at +6, we will have a new Masters Champion in 2017. Does Jordan Spieth have a shot at winning his second Green Jacket?

After Round 1, that didn’t look promising. Spieth had a disgusting quadruple bogey on 15 to ultimately finish Thursday at 3-over par. He needed to shoot at least a 72 on Friday to feel any bit good about his chances to win his second Green Jacket.

Spieth did three strokes better than par on Friday. He shot a strong 69 to enter Saturday at even par. This has him tied for 10th through two days with the likes of 2013 Masters winner Adam Scott and three-time Masters champion Phil Mickelson. Not a bad trio to be a part of for Spieth at even par.

Despite having two bogeys on the first four holes, Spieth had five birdies to bail him out on the afternoon. After bogeying four, Spieth either shot par or birdied the hole to creep back up to striking distance of the Masters leaders.

Here is how Spieth is doing and who he is back of heading into Round 3 Saturday:

T1. Charley Hoffman -4
T1. Sergio Garcia -4
T1. Thomas Pieters -4
T1. Rickie Fowler -4
5. William McGirt -2
T6. Justin Rose -1
T6. Ryan Moore -1
T6. Jon Rahm -1
T6. Fred Couples -1
T10. Adam Scott 0
*T10. Jordan Spieth 0
T10. Phil Mickelson 0

Overall, Spieth is in good shape to make a run to the top of the leaderboard either on Saturday or Sunday. If he can dig himself out of that three-hole deficit in one day, who knows what the 2015 Masters Champion can do on Saturday or Sunday?
