Manchester City face Hull at Etihad Stadium on Saturday, April 8. Here’s all the info you need to watch.

Entering the weekend, Manchester City sit two points back of Liverpool for third place in the Premier League. At the other end of the table, Hull sit two points above the relegation zone and are fighting for their Premier League lives.

On Wednesday, City faced league leaders Chelsea. Eden Hazard scored on a shot that deflected off of Vincent Kompany and beat keeper Willy Caballero. The Citizens tied the game after a terrible giveaway by Chelsea keeper Thibaut Courtois. Courtois’ clearance went straight to David Silva. Silva’s initial shot was saved, but Sergio Aguero tied the game on the rebound.

In the 35th minute, Chelsea were awarded a penalty after Fernandinho brought Pedro down in the box. Hazard stepped up to the spot and had his initial shot saved by Caballero, but was able to score on the rebound. Manchester City were unable to score an equalizer in the second half, dropping all three points at Stamford Bridge.

Few people would have predicted prior to Hull’s game against Middlesbrough on Wednesday that the teams would combine for six goals. In the fifth minute, Alvaro Negredo opened the scoring for Middlesbrough. The Tigers tied the game when Lazar Markovic put away a poor Boro clearance. Oumar Niasse put Hull ahead and their lead would increase when Abel Hernandez scored in the 33rd minute. Middlesbrough got a break from the officials when Marten de Roon’s goal stood, despite being offside. Hull put the game away when Harry Maguire headed home a beautiful set piece in the 70th minute.

Manchester City defeated Hull 3-0 on Boxing Day. The Citizens should again win by a similar scoreline. City are far more talented and need to pick up all three points to remain inside of the top four. Hull fans should not be too optimistic, even after scoring four goals on Wednesday.
