The only way to truly commemorate the epicness that was the Chicago Cubs’ 2016 World Series is to have championship rings suitable for the occasion.

It took 108 years for the Chicago Cubs to bring home the World Series title, so there’s no better way to celebrate that accomplishment than to have rings that reflect that huge achievement. To that end, the 2016 World Series Rings will feature 108 sparkly diamonds to commemorate each year of the Cubs’ title drought.

That World Series title drought ended in November 2016 when the Cubs claimed the World Series title after a tense seven game battle with the Cleveland Indians.

The Cubs will receive their World Series rings on April 12. Wrigley Field will be packed full of Cubs fans who want to witness history as the Cubs are formally crowned as the World Series champions. The Cubs’ uniforms and caps will be properly tricked out with gold lettering so that the match their new bling, which will be presented to the team by 20 fans who will serve as honorary ring bearers.

The entire game will be a celebration of the team’s historic win, with former catcher David Ross returning to throw out the first pitch and lead the crowd during the seventh inning stretch.

But let’s go back to those rings for a moment. Think for a moment what 108 diamonds are going to look like on a single ring. That is some championship level bling for some championship rings. However, 108 diamonds is nothing compared to the Denver Broncos’ Super Bowl 50 rings that featured an eye-popping 212 diamonds. By contrast, the 2015 World Series champion Kansas City Royals had some bling of their own, with two types of gold and over ten carats of gemstones.

Even still, there’s no question that the 2016 World Series Rings are the ones with the highest value given how long it took to win them.
