Continuing the great annual tradition of The Masters, golfers didn’t disappoint and delivered incredible moments throughout the weekend.

The Masters was full of drama, with a tight finish between two golfers with great respect for each other. The whole weekend was full of great moments, with emotions ranging from joy to sadness filling the tournament. The biggest came when Sergio Garcia and Justin Rose battled back and forth in the tournament’s final pairing all the way to a playoff, where Garcia eventually won his green jacket.

This year was the first Masters tournament since Arnold Palmer’s passing, and those participating tried their best to live up to the excitement the legend brought to the sport. The weekend did not disappoint, as the tournament came as close as you could with the final pairing. In a weekend full of great moments, here are the five best from the 2017 Masters.

5. Billy Payne’s tribute to Arnold Palmer

After the loss of one of the best golfers in the sport’s history a few months ago, many wondered what was next for the starting festivities of the Masters.

On Thursday, at the opening ceremony for the tournament, Augusta National and Masters chairman Billy Payne delivered an incredible tribute before the ceremonial opening shots from Gary Player and Jack Nicklaus.

Palmer’s wife Winnie was present for the emotional tribute, with no teleprompter needed for Payne, who spoke directly from the heart and touched the emotions of everyone in attendance. The tribute was the perfect way to start a great weekend, and pay respects to one of the greatest the sport has ever seen.
