Fantasy baseball: 25 players you need to claim
By Brad Weiss
The Seattle Mariners are going to put up runs this season, and one new addition to the lineup could benefit in a big way. Jarrod Dyson, who played sparingly for the Kansas City Royals over the past few seasons, is likely to be a regular in the lineup for the Mariners in 2017. He has the kind of speed fantasy owners drool over, and he should have a bunch of opportunities to score runs this season.
Seattle has a lineup that includes some heavy hitters, including Robinson Cano and Nelson Cruz. Newly acquired Danny Valencia is also going to bring some pop to the order, which should enable Dyson to get at-bats, even though he is going to be the team’s No. 9 hitter. When he gets on, he is one of the best basestealers in baseball, and he could rack up 30 of them this season.
He is a winner, and was a big part of what made the Royals so special over the past few seasons. He needs to do a better job drawing walks, which should lead to him having more opportunities to steal bases. He is a sparkplug in any lineup, and if you find yourself down in stolen bases, adding Dyson to the mix could help you win that category.
