Zack Wheeler

P,

The New York Mets have some of the best young pitching in baseball, and at one time, Zack Wheeler was the prized arm of all of them. However, he has had to deal with health issues during his time with the big league club, and is just now getting back to full strength. He is going to be limited this season, but getting him early in the year could yield a bunch of wins, and strikeouts.

There is not doubt that Wheeler has the stuff to strike out ten-plus batters on any given night, but you never know what is going to happen with that right arm of his. For now, bank on him starting at least 20 games this season for a Mets team that could win the NL East. Just seeing him healthy has to be great for Mets fans, but seeing him dominant is what fantasy owners are looking for.

Pitchers like Wheeler are going to get picked up quickly, especially if he is able to put a couple of good starts together. He is going to reach his innings limit  by the time fantasy leagues go to the playoffs, so do not bank on him helping you in the playoffs. However, he can get your team to the playoffs if he remains healthy, which is all owners need to go on a nice run and win a championship.
