5. Jimmy Butler — 52 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists vs. CHA

If the Chicago Bulls doesn’t make the playoffs this season, at least you can be sure it wasn’t because of Jimmy Butler.

Despite a disappointing year, Butler has played his heart out, and on Jan. 2, with the Bulls floundering and in need of a lift, Butler displayed his true all-around game against the equally disappointing Charlotte Hornets.

On this night, Butler simply refused to let the Bulls lose, going off for 55 points on just 24 shots from the floor. If that wasn’t enough, Butler was also a Bull (no pun intended) on the boards, leading the team with 12 rebounds, and playing playmaker in dishing out six assists.

With Butler on his game, there was no way that the Hornets would win on this night in Chicago, and, sure enough, Butler’s performance powered the Bulls to a much-needed 118-110 win over the boys from Charlotte.
