Tuesday night marked the second night of the WWE Superstar Shakeup and SmackDown Live was given some new faces (and heels) moving forward. For this, we’ll grade each and every move made for the blue brand.

During the second night of the WWE Superstar Shakeup on Tuesday night, SmackDown Live immediately started off on the right foot in its new era with the arrival of United States Champion Kevin Owens.

Owens, who had been a member of RAW since 2015 after being called up to the main roster from NXT, opened the show on Tuesday night and was the first move given to the Boston crowd and to the fans at home as one of the new big-time players on the blue brand.

Along with Owens, four-time RAW Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair was announced as one of the newest members of the women’s division after the returning Tamina was brought to the ring by SmackDown Live commissioner Shane McMahon. (Nice troll job there on the announcement, Shane.)

There were a few other moves made by the blue brand this past Tuesday, so let’s take a look at each and every one of them and we’ll grade each maneuver.

Sin Cara moves to SmackDown Live

Let’s keep this one simple: Kalisto’s on RAW — and will probably be joining the Cruiserweight division at some point, which seems like fun — and Sin Cara is … a wrestler in a mask. There’s hundreds of those all over the world and this move doesn’t really move the needle. Like, at all.

Grade: Satisfactory

Tamina joins SmackDown Live

Tamina’s arrival on Tuesday night was more focused on Shane McMahon setting up the crowd for Charlotte Flair’s arrival, which was a pretty “damn, you got us, Shane-O” moment shortly before The Queen arrived.

Still, Tamina helps solidify the depth of the women’s division after Alexa Bliss and Mickie James moved to Mondays. It’s not a groundbreaking move, but Tamina could become Nia Jax Lite on Tuesdays with her size and power.

Grade: A solid C (which could go up with her potential improvement)

Jinder Mahal moves over to SmackDown Live

To be honest, I’m extremely upset with Jinder Mahal right now. Reportedly giving Finn Balor a concussion on RAW in his first single match back from injury isn’t exactly a way to get on my good side. However, this is professional wrestling and stuff does happen; mistakes happen; injuries happen. He’s not the first to injure a big name in the ring. (That’s why they have the whole “PLEASE DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME” warning, but of course we all did and still do because we’re idiots.)

As for the move, Jinder doesn’t really move the needle either, but he’s a guy that can work on the mid-card and continue to get trolled by Rob Gronkowski to entertain the fans.

Grade: Is there a grade between C+ and C?

The Shining Stars move to SmackDown Live‘s tag team division

This move does absolutely nothing for me. Was their arrival pretty solid? Sure. Beating up American Alpha can draw some heat from the crowd, but these two do nothing for me personally and I’m sure I’m not the only one.

Grade: ?- (Yes, that is a “question mark-minus” grade because I have no idea what to grade here.)

Byron Saxton is in the SmackDown Live commentary booth

This move sucks because now Corey Graves can’t yell at Saxton anymore.

Grade: Send him back to RAW, please and thanks
