Sami Zayn is heading for SmackDown Live

Everyone’s favorite luchador El Generico is heading for SmackDown Live and that’s wonderful. (If you don’t know who El Generico is, just watch old Ring of Honor footage to catch up.)

Our good friend Samuel Zayn is finally heading for Tuesday nights after all those months of teasing the move. It’s another person with a perfect opportunity to launch himself into the main event picture on SmackDown.

Here’s the thing with Sami: he doesn’t win much; that goes along with his character. He’s “The Underdog from The Underground”. Sami gets over with fans because of his ability to put on a good match with virtually everyone in front of him. He’s one of the best in the business and fans really connect with him. He’s perfect for SmackDown Live because … well, it’s been the better show since the brands split last summer.

Personally, I don’t like seeing Zayn and Kevin Owens on the same show still because it’s really taking away from their heated rivalry (that goes back to those ROH days). It should feel special when they lock horns. But, if they’re kept away from each other and teased (like the opening promo segment on Tuesday night) every once in a while, it could truly be a lot of fun having them both on Tuesdays.
