Mike Williams

Wide Receiver, Clemson Tigers

It won’t be the Cleveland Browns’ No. 1 that will be the most scrutinized pick of the first-round. Cleveland has the Philadelphia Eagles’ first-round pick by virtue of the Carson Wentz trade. So the Brown have the No. 12 pick and we have no idea what they are going to do with it.

This could be a great opportunity for the Browns to take a quarterback. With Mitchell Trubisky already off the board to the New York Jets at No. 6, do the Browns go with Deshaun Watson or DeShone Kizer at No. 12? No, no they don’t.

Since the Browns also have the No. 33 pick atop the second round, they can get a future franchise quarterback there if they want to draft Patrick Mahomes, Davis Webb or even Kizer if he falls that far. The Browns need a lot of help, but getting the best wide receiver in the draft at No. 12 in Clemson’s Mike Williams could be the pick.

Williams could play in the same receiving corps with the outside possession receiver of Kenny Britt and the vertical threat of Corey Coleman. At Clemson, Williams made great plays in the middle of the gridiron like he was the Tigers’ Julio Jones, A.J. Green or Mike Evans. Browns head coach Hue Jackson likes his wideouts and will want his own version of Green at No. 12 in Williams.
