Milwaukee Brewers first baseman Eric Thames slugs a home run in his 5th straight game Monday night against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field.

Eric Thames hit another home run Monday. This is getting old right?!

The former Korean Baseball League legend made his return to the majors this season, and he has been the hottest player in the league to begin the year. Before this season, Thames had not played in the majors since 2012 and his brief time in the majors was nothing to remember. He then went on and played for the NC-Dinos of the Korean Baseball league, and instantly became a phenomenon there where he hit 124 home runs in three seasons.

His remarkable play in Korea grabbed the attention of many teams in MLB, and the Brewers eventually secured his services when they offered Thames a three-year contract back on November 29. It has paid dividends so far as Milwaukee has to be happy with the early results from their big signee. Thames is batting .400 so far on the season, and has already clubbed 7 home runs in his first 12 games back in the majors, including tonight.

Although he most likely will not be able to keep his batting average that high, the power certainly seems to be sustainable in a sense. Mark Trumbo paced MLB last season when he hit 47 home runs, but now there seems to be a new player who could potentially lead the majors at the end of this season. Although it has only been two weeks of this young season, Thames has certainly put on quite a show and it will be a story to follow throughout the year.
