2017 NFL Draft: Seattle Seahawks 7-round mock
The Seattle Seahawks have seven picks in the 2017 NFL Draft, who will they take?
The Seahawks have made their hay in recent years by drafting well. Their picks have been questioned at times, but they have proven to have a solid method, and most of their successful starters are former draftees.
This year, the Hawks do not have a fourth or fifth round pick, but they have two extra thirds thanks to the compensatory process. With five picks in the top 110 of the draft, who can the Seahawks take to boost their roster? Here is our Seattle Seahawks 7-round mock
The Seahawks love tall, physical and talented cornerbacks. They get just that with their first round pick in 2017. Humphrey fits their style of cornerback with above average height, and well above average arm length. He also tested out to be very quick in changing direction, agility and long speed drills at the combine. These are all boxes that need to be checked for the Seahawks to draft you at cornerback.
However, what makes Humphrey a perfect fit in Seattle is his physical nature and ability to stick his helmet into plays in the run game. Humphrey’s physical and heavy hitting mentality stands out on tape. Some have mentioned a tackler such as Humphrey is better off as a safety. Next, to a sure tackler in Richard Sherman, the Hawks would have two stud cornerbacks in that area.
Humphrey has been burnt deep a couple of times, but adding him to a defense with Earl Thomas would be a stellar fit. DeShawn Shead is injured and likely will not be ready for the start of the season. The Seahawks may get an instant starter and the final piece to the Legion of Boom in Marlon Humphrey, and they cannot pass that up.
