The Clippers’ Blake Griffin has left Game 3 with a bruised right big toe, and he won’t return.

Things just keep getting worse for Blake Griffin and the L.A. Clippers.

Down by nine early in the 3rd quarter and no end to the misery in sight, things for the Clippers went from bad to worse when they watched Blake Griffin hobble off the court after injuring his toe late in the 2nd quarter.

As he was attempting to go for a layup, he tried to sidestep Rodney Hood, but he injured his toe while doing so, and he limped off the court, to the horror of the Clipper bench and their fans. Though it appeared he walked off normally, it turned out that he bruised his right toe trying to make the layup, and according to Marc J. Spears of ESPN, was ruled out for the rest of the game.

This is not a good sign for the Clippers, as Griffin the main catalyst in rallying L.A. to tie the series against the upstart and hungry Jazz. That same Jazz team is bringing it to the Clippers in Game 3. Even with Griffin on the court, the Jazz were simply outplaying the older Clippers in every facet of the game.

One of the keys to tonight’s game was for Griffin to dominate on the offensive side of the floor, and he was cruising along with 11 points on 5-9 shooting. But now that he’s out for the rest of the game, the Clippers are going to have to rely on Chris Paul to carry them to the promised land, and so far he is doing his best, scoring 21 points on a blistering 8-14 from the floor.

But the real question here is if Griffin will be out for the rest of the series? If that is so, we can’t see the Clippers fighting off the tenacious Jazz. So Clipper fans must pray that he can return to this series as quickly as possible.
