After Game 3, the NBA is investigating an incident between Houston Rockets’ guard and a Oklahoma City Thunder fan.

According to ESPN, league sources have informed the world wide leader that the NBA is looking into an incident between a fan and Houston Rockets guard Patrick Beverley.

Early in the first half of Game 3, Beverley was going up for a layup when he was shoved right into a Thunder fan’s feet. That fan happened to be none other than the Thunder owner’s son, Stuart Scaramucci.

Beverley stepped into the crowd and there was yelling back and forth between him and the fans. Rockets forward Sam Dekker had to pull Beverley away from the altercation and back to the bench.

The NBA will now look into all the angles and determine if any discipline is necessary for Beverley, heading into Game 4.

This could be a big blow if Beverley is somehow suspended for Game 4, though I doubt that will actually happen.

Beverley has been an integral force, harassing and frustrating Russell Westbrook through the first three games of the series while also contributing on the offensive end.

In the three games, he has averaged 12 points, three assists and nearly eight rebounds in 28 minutes per game. Losing that production would be difficult for Houston to overcome, if the league decides to suspend Beverley.

Typically, players don’t have altercations with fans in these situations, so this could set a precedent for how the league handles these types of arguments.

Most likely, Beverley will be slapped with a fine, if he is found guilty of instigating the argument. He should be back for Game 4, hassling Westbrook, as the Rockets try to go up 3-1 in the series.
