4. California – What impact will Beau Baldwin’s offense have right away?

The Cal Golden Bears will embark on a shift in their program’s direction in 2017. Things will look different as Justin Wilcox takes over as head coach. The Golden Bears fell back to a losing record last season and they want things to shift the other direction.

With no quarterback currently set to lead the way, Cal will have to sift through multiple options with almost no experience to take over. That means it’s going to take some time for some continuity to take place.

If there’s a good sign for Cal, it’s that Beau Baldwin is leading the offense. After doing an unbelievable job at Eastern Washington over the last decade, Baldwin will now get his chance to lead the Cal offense.

It’s going to look different than the air raid system they had going and there’s going to be a bit of a transition period. The good news is he will get a new quarterback to work with that he can mold to his scheme.

Will it have a big impact right away? It very well could as the opposition has to adjust to new looks from Cal this season. The expectation should be to give this new regime plenty of time to get things going.
