Look for Barry Allen and friends to zip over to Netflix much faster than in seasons past.

Waiting until the fall for new seasons of The Flash and the other Arrowverse shows is about to become a thing of the past.

Thanks to our sister site Netflix Life, we’ve known for a while that Netflix and The CW had reached a deal that would see new seasons of most of the network’s shows arrive on the streaming service just eight days after they end. It’s already taken place with Legends of Tomorrow, which wrapped up its second season last month and is available for viewing now.

That meant that The Flash season 3 Netflix release date was easy to predict but couldn’t be nailed down for sure until The CW officially announced when the season 3 finale would air. The network finally did that last week, and as expected, the final episode for this spring will be on Tuesday, May 23.

That means that season 3 will hit Netflix on Wednesday, May 31. That’ll be great for fans who are even a little bit behind the live episodes, especially since the season will end with five consecutive new installments to close out the battle against Savitar.

Making things more intriguing are rumors of a big death in the season 3 finale. Assuming that Iris West is saved, since that’s the big thrust of the second half of season 3, another beloved character could be saying a final farewell. That could make the demand for this particular season that much higher on Netflix.

Since Arrow has its season 5 finale the night after The Flash, it’ll hit Netflix the next day as well, on June 1. Time to make sure some DCTV is at least part of your summer plans.
