Starting Pitchers

High Salary Option

Clayton Kershaw ($14,300): Yes, this is Kershaw, but boy what a price that is attached to him. Its the type of salary chunk that makes it an all in proposition for the pitcher, and figuring out the offense as it goes along. However, he’ll be paired against a San Francisco club that has struggled mightily of late and is wedged into the NL cellar. So despite the price, the return will justify it.

Felix Hernandez ($9,500: If there are a couple of hitters that you can’t work in, but still want to get a top dollar arm, King Felix is your guy. It’s a near $5,000 savings and gets a matchup where Hernandez gets to take on the Tigers down Miguel Cabrera, who has owned his country man in his career (.393 average). The King could reign tonight.

High Value Option

Wade Miley ($6,900): Miley has been lights out so far this year, and while it does have all of the symptoms of a bubble prepared to burst, but the matchup tonight is favorable for him. Miley is striking out over 11 per nine innings, while the Rays lean heavily on a few left-handed bats and are striking out at the highest rate in the AL.

Rank Em:

  1. Kershaw
  2. Hernandez
  3. Ervin Santana ($7,100)
  4. Miley
  5. Michael Wacha ($6,700)

Catcher

High Salary Option

J.T. Realmuto ($3,500): Not a great day for catching options and a few of  the top guys on the board are overpriced for the level they have been playing at. With that being the case, its a great day to slide down the board some and take a look at Realmuto, who gets a chance for a big game against the struggling Vince Velasquez.

High Value Option

Yasmani Grandal ($3,100): Grandal is very, very nicely priced tonight at just a notch above buy one, get one free level. He’ll have a chance to take on rookie Ty Blach as he makes his first start of the year, taking Madison Bumgarner’s place in the rotation. Grandal’s power upside is worth saving a few bucks on to toss in on a so-so day at the position.

Rank Em:

  1. RealmutoF
  2. Matt Wieters ($4,400)
  3. Jonathan Lucroy ($4,100)
  4. Buster Posey ($3,300)
  5. Grandal
