What is a fidget cube and where can you buy one?

Just in case your kids are already over the fidget spinner and onto the fidget cube, we’ve got you covered there too.

We know it’s hard to keep track of the latest trends and crazes these days, especially when they come on quickly and in unexpected forms. So now that you know all about the fidget spinner, it’s time to move on to its cousin of sorts, the fidget cube.

Like a fidget spinner, a figdet cube is supposed to be something to occupy your mind and fingers instead of constantly getting sucked in by your electronic devices and other distractions. What it has that the spinner doesn’t is more going for it. Most fidget cubes have buttons, dials or switches on every side but one, meaning you can constantly play with it in your hand without even needing to look at it.

The Verge summed up the fidget cube nicely in an article back in February:

"It is not a thing designed to get you to stop fidgeting. It is a thing designed to make your fidgeting slightly less annoying to those around you. It appears to do that job, mostly."

As for where you can buy them, fidget cubes are available in wide varieties of colors, price points and even shapes (though more than six sides means it’s no longer a cube, or so my geometry teacher taught me back in the day) on Amazon. You can also find them in abundance on eBay, including some helpful listings that offer the fidget cube and fidget spinner together. Even big box retailer like Walmart have them online, though primarily through third-party sellers.

Though this isn’t only a toy for kids, since it’s also marketed as a way for adults to work through anxiety and/or stress. But if it is your child who’s asking about one, this should satisfy them for now — until the next big fad arrives.
