hatFor those who play ESPN Fantasy Football listen up. There is a change to the scoring system on the horizon.

The scoring for the defense-special team slots in Fantasy Football is changing for the better. ESPN will not count an opposing team’s defensive touchdown against your team’s defensive points allowed.

In the past, if a quarterback threw an interception that was run back for a touchdown, those six points would count against your total points allowed for your fantasy football defense. That will no longer be the case and only when your defense is on the field will points allowed be counted.

When this rare occasion happens, though, the point after or two-point conversion will still count against your total points allowed because your defense or special teams are on the field when the points are scored.

This is a huge change in the fantasy football world. Personally, I can’t count how many times my defense was knocked down because of their lousy offensive giving up points. I am glad to see this finally change and I think it will make a difference.

Hopefully, other fantasy football platforms adapt to it as well. This was a much-needed adjustment that makes sense. This will help a lot of people when that first pick-six is thrown and could alter how people draft fantasy football defenses.
