Jay Cutler has yet to find a home for the 2017 NFL season, and it is looking like he may enter the world of broadcasting if he cannot find a job in the league.
At one time, Jay Cutler was considered one of the best young quarterbacks in football. However, he squandered his talent with inconsistent play on the field, and a “whatever” attitude off of it. The Chicago Bears let him go after the 2016 NFL season, and he has yet to latch on with another team. Although he would like to continue his playing career, he may be starting a new one, as he went out to Los Angeles to explore a potential TV career.
Tampa Bay running back Doug Martin has drawn praise from his general manager Jason Licht this offseason, as he has come into workouts in great shape. On Thursday, he was in the news for the wrong reasons, as his BMW was hit by a car that ran a stop sign in Tampa. He is OK, and if he can return to the form in which he rushed for 1,400-plus yards twice, the Buccaneers should be a playoff team in 2017.
Michael Oher also found himself in the news for off-the-field issues, but he may find himself in hot water for his. Oher was cited for misdemeanor assault in Nashville, as he allegedly got in a scuffle with an Uber driver last month. The former Pro Bowl left tackle is accused of knocking the driver to the ground, and then kicking him while he was down. Oher is currently a free agent, after missing 13 games last season due to being put in concussion protocol early in the year.
For all the talk about the Seattle Seahawks possibly trading Richard Sherman this offseason, that story is apparently dead. Head coach Pete Carroll said there is “zero” chance that the team will trade Sherman, who is still regarded as one of the best cornerbacks in the league. Sherman was beaten badly in the team’s playoff loss against Green Bay, but Carroll later said he had been dealing with a knee injury for the entire season.

The Jacksonville Jaguars still do not know if Blake Bortles is their future at the quarterback position, but that did not stop the team from exercising his fifth-year option. The Jaguars pulled in some nice pieces this offseason, especially at running back, where they drafted LSU star Leonard Fournette with the No. 4 pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. If Bortles can take a step in the right direction in 2017, the Jags could be a team to beat in a very winnable AFC South.
