A look at what time you can tune in to see the catchweight fight between Canelo Alvarez vs. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. on Saturday night
Saturday night fight will be witness to one of the biggest marquee events of the entire year as Mexican superstars Canelo Alvarez and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. square off in the highly anticipated 164.5-pound catchweight fight.
Alvarez (48-1-1, 34 KOs) was last seen winning the WBO light middleweight title with a devastating ninth round TKO over Liam Smith in September. Prior to this win, fans witnessed him crumple Amir Khan with a skull-rattling sixth round knockout while also earning a decision over Miguel Cotto.
Chavez Jr. (50-2-1, 32 KOs), son of retired boxing legend Julio César Chávez, is riding a two fight win streak. In his most recent bouts, fans saw him earn back-to-back decisions over Dominik Britsch and Marcos Reeyes.
As boxing historian Rodolfo Mondragon so eloquently put it: “This is a matchup, not for a title, but for pride and being able to claim they are the best fighter in Mexico. These two fighters are competing for something special. And it makes fans excited to see who will emerge as this generation’s best fighter of Mexican descent.”

In addition to Canelo vs. Chavez Jr., which will be the main event of the evening, there will be three fights on the under card that will begin at 9 ET. So you can expect the main even to start somewhere between 11:30 p.m. ET and midnight.
