Absolver is an online multiplayer fighting game. It has RPG elements and the combat looks insane. It’s looking like a must-play game in 2017.

The video game fighting genre has been extremely popular for years now. Games like Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat and Super Smash Bros. have dominated the fighting game scene for as long as we can remember. However, there are some new games on the horizon. For example, For Honor released earlier this year. It has a variety of different gameplay mechanics and elements, but at its core, it’s a fighting game. Then there’s another game releasing known as Absolver. Based on the new combat overview trailer, it has a ton of potential.

This game has sort of flew under the radar. In reality, we haven’t heard much about it and that’s unfortunate. It made its debut at E3 2016, but since then, we haven’t heard and learned any other details about it. The combat trailer dropped on Wednesday and the game looks like an absolute blast.

It’s being pegged as an online multiplayer combat RPG. You can say that fighting and PvP (player vs. player) battles are going to play a huge role in this game. From the trailer, it all seems mysterious and very complex. We’re definitely intrigued by it, though.

Check it out below:

This trailer focuses solely on the combat and the three different styles. First is the Forsaken style. It’s special attribute/ability is parrying. When you parry an attack, you stun your enemy briefly and you can take advantage by setting up your own combination of attacks.

Next up is the Kahlt Method, with a special ability to absorb damage. As you absorb attacks, you can also take advantage of your enemies by setting up attacks of your won. You’ll regain the health you gained if you time everything correctly.

Lastly, the Windfall style specializes in avoiding attacks. It can avoid enemy attacks, which sets up some nifty counters. This style gives you many opportunities to catch your enemies off-guard.
