Cleveland Cavaliers head coach Tyronn Lue has said he wished his players worked on their defense, as much as they work on their hand shakes.

Cavaliers head coach Tyronn Lue was asked if he ever saw his players work on their famous handshakes which they perform before each game. Lue acknowledged that he has, and gave the ultimate old-school Dad answer by saying “I wish we could remember some of our defensive schemes that well.”

All the reporters in the room began laughing, including Lue himself. Lue explained how there are times when players go up to him during a game and apologize if they forgot a defensive scheme or assignment, but he said they never seem to forget any steps in their elongated handshakes.

He wonders how they come up with all of that stuff for their handshakes, as I’m sure a lot of us do. LeBron James in particular seems to have a secret handshake with every player on the team. James being able to remember all of those handshakes is impressive to say the least.

The Cavaliers seemingly have ample time to come up with their handshakes, as they have swept both of their first two playoff opponents respectively. You have to do something with all that time off right?

Cleveland is currently waiting on the winner of the series between the Boston Celtics, and the Washington Wizards for their next playoff opponent. The Cavs played the Celtics four times during the regular season and won three of them. The Cavs played the Wizards three times during the regular season and won two of the games.
